8. 主謂一致問題：分數或百分比后面的謂語動詞采用何種形式要看其后緊跟的名詞，如所跟名詞為可數名詞復數，則謂語動詞采用復數形式;所跟名詞為不可數名詞，則謂語動詞采用單數形式。是就近原則的一種。E.g. We now know that about one fourth of all the kinds of seaweed are animals.

12. It takes up such parts of the soil as are dissolved in the water. (as的句型是特殊的定語從句句型，由于前面出現了such才會采用as 來做定語從句的關系代詞;take up 的意思是吸收;本句話的意思為：植物還會吸收能夠在水中溶解的部分土壤。)
